
This is a short IMO Model Course, titled ARPA (automatic radar plotting aids) training for officers and Masters on board Merchant ships, made mandatory by the IMO (International Maritime Organization) under resolution A.482(xii) satisfying the STCW Convention and Manila amendments 2010. This short course will be coordinated by Professor Lizardo, (joao.lizardo@docente.unicv.edu.cv) who will be in charge of lecturing scheduling, discussion forums, formative and summative assignments, group works and simulated field trips. We will have full technical support from Mr. Jeany Silva, (jeany.silva@adm.unicv.edu.cv) academic support from Mr. Rogerio Fortes, (rogerio.fortes@adm.unicv.edu.cv). As per bridge simulator Professors Daniel Lopes (daniel.lopes@docente.unicv.edu.cv) and Luis de Pina Fernandes (luis.fernandes@docente.unicv.edu.cv) will be in charge and Professors Nuno Almeida (nuno.almeida@docente.unicv.edu.cv) and Manuel Silva (manuel.silva@docente.unicv.edu.cv) with be doing lecturing support and clarifying students doubts. This short course will be addressed in English and Portuguese, having in mind that the majority of resources are available in English. The text book titled IMO Model course 1.08 will be our mandatory study guide but a lot more is expected from the participants particularly by their own research, suggestions, teamwork and cooperation. The course is supposed to be launched on the 22nd November and to end up not after the 16th December 2016. Considering that we will be using a Learning Management System the coordinator will be reached preferentially by that system any weekly day time, considering that there is an application of the LMS, available by android, smart, or iphone.

We perform Remaining On Board surveys (ROB) carried out for determining the quantity of Fuel Oil and Diesel Oil remaining on board a ship, at the time of delivery or re-delivery and Bunker Quantity Surveys (BQS) that are carried out to ascertain fuel and diesel delivered quantities from barge to ship and report any possible shortages, also we perform 221B Survey also know by Bunker Spot Survey, is not unusual to find more fuel oil board than quantities declared by the vessel on the log book, for that reason our surveyors are fully trained and approved in Liquid Cargo Surveys by Lloyd’s Maritime Academy in order to do our best in each job assigned.

CONDITION SURVEY
Condition Survey for P & I Clubs and Hull and Machinery insurance.
We can take care of your Condition Survey inspections or condition inspection on board oil tankers, general cargo, container ships, passengers, ferries, livestock and others according to your specific requirements for each occasion.
Normally, the condition surveys carried out for P & I clubs are pre-entry inspections to determine the standar and level of management of the ship as well as possible sources of risk to third parties that the ship could present prior to being insured by the Club.
The condition survey for H&M insurers tries to determine the general condition of the vessel and all its machinery prior to settle the policy.
Scope of the inspection.
The condition inspection is not limited to insurance companies, we can also act on behalf of shipping companies, charterers, flags or on behalf of any other interested party.
All of our inspections include the checking of ballast tanks whenever possible and as long as this gas-free, functional tests of the different deck equipment and machinery, fire safety test and salvage equipment check.

INCIDENT/ACCIDENT INVESTIGATION
